The finished portrait.  I met these three to photograph them so
I was able to set this pose up.
My line drawing transferred onto velour

Blocking in the dark areas

Focusing on the girl’s face as she will be behind
most of the layers.

My setup…I like to have a desk top easel so I can have the
colours I’m using right in front of me.

Working in the shirt background to the dogs creating really
dark areas to make the contrasts high.

This means these foreground characters
really stand out

The final layer is the girl’s arms in the very foreground which
encloses the group nicely.

Two sweet faces in protective arms.
