Jack’s portrait was a lot of fun to create making use of many different textures achievable in soft pastel. In this tutorial series I take you right from the beginning where I’m wondering what to do with the background. This series shares the entire though process and is colour coded throughout.
As well as all the scruffy fur textures on Jack, we have a soft fluffy blanket, something I’ve had to paint many times in pet portraits over the years.
