Finished Painting

The following tutorial series covers just under 1 hour. The narration in this demo will guide you through the full project using a limited palette.

This small landscape painting was done as an experiment while trying out a new paper. I kept it small and focused on capturing the scene in a more basic and simplified way. This is something I am having a lot of fun exploring, and the skills that I learn when trying to paint more loosely absolutely feed into my more detailed work.
So even if you are a lover of detail like me, I encourage you to have a go with some smaller studies. This is all about playing with colour and not stressing if it doesn’t look exactly like the reference.
