Finished Painting
The following tutorial series covers just under 4 hours. Instead of showing you the full painting, There are key parts with colour coding and narration.
This painting was one of my early experiments on Pastelmat paper. Since this I have used it for much of my work and love it. In this series I show you how I created the soft focus of the background right through to the texture of the fur and fine details like whiskers.
This is a great project to get you going in soft pastel and I’ve seen many students try this one in the early stages of their development.
