My second painting of a parrot and it was quite an ambitious one! I wanted to create contrast to set off the vibrant colours in the bird. But I also wanted to experiment with capturing the movement in the wings.
This piece shows how I mix together different photo references and take elements from each to create something better than the photo reference.
But what you’ll really get from this series are some different ways to blend pastel to create the effect of movement.
