A short demo at just under 3 hours in total, this is a great beginner tutorial to get you started on landscapes or painting water. I have always found this type of flat wave and reflective wet sand the easiest type of water effect to pull off in soft pastel. There are times when water seems so complex, but I deliberately chose this image as a way to explore water in a more simplified way.
There are plenty of other elements to learn about, like creating depth in a landscape and adding tiny figures.
