|Rosie’s finished portrait 14″ x 14″|
|The background was easy, plain white.
I’ve got my line drawing faintly on the velour.
|I start to block in the very darkest areas. This is where I really
draw the shapes and curves of the hair.
|Before I get the whole dog blocked in I’ve
started some detail at the left so I’m not
leaning on my work.
|Her eyes were so sweet. I’ve really taken my
time on these using pastels as well as pastel
pencil so the very small sharp lines.
|Wee nose in and now to fan all that hair
around for the chin area.
|Almost there, once I’ve worked out the
colour pallette I’m using it helps speed
the rest of the painting up. I find the
first ear takes me the longest until I’ve
got it flowing.
